So I have this crazy idea: Create "portraits" of all of the Transformers characters shown in the first three seasons of the original 80s cartoon in 1,000 square pixels. Each portrait includes a (usually greatly altered) screen capture image of the character (because I can't draw to save my life) and a word that, at least for me, describes the character in the portrait or at least a major aspect of him/her. (Because, let's face it, many of these characters were never well-developed.) Also, the "mood" of the idea should ideally be reflected in the overall feel of it. That's my mission. Whether or not I will succeed...remains to be seen.
This-here's Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots and Defender of Truth, Justice, and the American Way. This is one of at least two icons that I have planned for him, though I haven't made the other one yet. "Courage" sums him up pretty well. I mean, ya gotta have courage to command the pack o' wackos that he has to deal with, right? And I went with a sort of patriotic color scheme, too. It was going to be a lot worse; I was going to put the American flag behind him. But saner thoughts prevailed. Fortunately. This one was more complex than it looks. Mostly because I was dealing with a really crappy screen cap. I was feeling too lazy to re-do it from DVDs, but apparently I wasn't too lazy to spend about an hour fixing up the screen cap. That's me for you; if there's a hard way to do something, I'll doggedly sniff it out.

Two brushes used. There's this one and...the mask one I used for the border. I'm sure that I got that one from someone here on DevArt, but I'll be darned if I can find it now... If you recognize it as yours, whack me with a brick so that I can credit you properly, 'K?
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
